Finding Fixtures
The NEHYL Schedule fixtures on the FA’s ‘Matchday’ App, downloadable on all mobile devices. Download this app, and login using the same account that you use to complete your FA courses (England Learning).
If you haven’t yet completed your courses, as club management in your management chat to add you on the system as a ‘Team Secretary’, this will enable you to view all fixtures on the app. Your contact details won’t be available through Matchday if you are not assigned as the team manager, however, making it more difficult for opposition teams to contact you, but more on that later.
If you have completed your courses, you should see your fixtures appear, if they don’t contact club management in your management chat to add you as the official team manager.
The NEHYL schedules matches in 1-2 monthly blocks, so you can view upcoming fixtures. Don’t be alarmed to see a lot of games scheduled on the app for 8am kick offs! This is the default time, get in contact with the opposition manager to agree on exact time and locations, and don’t rely solely on the information provided on the matchday app.
Contacting The Opposition
There are a couple of ways to contact opposition managers. If you are the team manager, you should get an automated email from the FA Matchday app, with details of your oppositions contact options. If you aren’t a team manager, or you’re not getting the emails then it is important to check the NEHYL’s MemberMojo platform. This is a directory of contact details for all teams in the league. You need to create an account for yourself by following this link; https://membermojo.co.uk/nehyl. You can then also use this link to login in and search the directory for team manager contact details.
If you are playing at home, drop a message in your management chat asking for a member of club management to provide you with a kick off time. Once you have a KO time it is then your responsibility to reach out to the opposition manager using their details on the FA email or MemberMojo to confirm match times and location, use the ‘Matchday Sheet’ attached at the bottom of this article to send to every opposition you play, so they are aware of how to access the site, but so they also understand our rules & regulation (no smoking etc…). Once the fixture has been agreed with your opponents, you then need to ask your own team for availability by putting the match details in your chat, alongside something like a poll. For all home games, club management will arrange referees and also pay them.
If you are playing away, await a message from your opposition manager during the week, where they will confirm the time & place of the match, if you don’t hear anything by Tuesday/Wednesday it’s always a good idea to find their contact details and reach out to them. Once the fixture has been agreed with your opponents, you then need to ask your own team for availability by putting the match details in your chat, alongside something like a poll. Away referees should be paid in full by the home team.
Before The Match
Make sure to show your opposition manager your team sheet. This can be done through a print out, or by just using the PDF sent out in your management chats. If anything ever changes in your team (especially if someone new joins), if club management are aware, they should send out a new team sheet to reflect this change. If they are not aware, or have forgotten (it happens!) then please let them know. Only club management are able to generate a new team sheet through the FA’s club portal. Make sure to also check your oppositions team sheet, to ensure they aren’t fielding anyone they shouldn’t be, this is particularly important for cup games.
After The Match
After the match, there is a couple of tasks to complete. You should get a text from the FA’s Matchday system (this comes through as a proper SMS text and isn’t a notification through the app). This is how you submit your match score. If you don’t get these texts, make club management aware in your management chat and they can look into this.
The second task is to fill out an MRC (Match Report Card). This goes back to the league, and scores things like sportsmanship etc. If these don’t get completed, the club get fined, so please try and remember! The MRC form can be accessed BY CLICKING HERE
