TVFDL Manager Admin
Sunday Mornings @ Trevelyan, Windsor
Welcome to the Thames Valley Football Development League admin page! Here you will find everything you need to know as a manager in the TVFDL. From finding fixtures, to organising games and your post match admin duties. Use this as your one stop guide to the TVFDL. Before you become a TVFDL Manager, you must first complete your FA Courses and DBS Check. For more information on this, read our New Managers Guide HERE.
Finding Fixtures
The TVFDL will send fixture lists out in blocks of about 1-2 months. Each manager should receive the fixture list for their age group. As a club, we receive a fixture pack for every single age group, and we will endeavour to let managers know when this email has been sent out to avoid anyone missing it, or the unlikely event of a manager not being on the teams mailing list. The email will come from Liz, the League Sec. Her email is; dstuartbarnett@aol.com, so watch out for emails from this address!
Contacting The Opposition
Along with your fixture list, the league will also attach a contact details list to the email. This lists every manager in your league, along with their phone number and email address.
If you are playing at home, drop a message in your management chat asking for a member of club management to provide you with a kick off time. Once you have a KO time it is then your responsibility to reach out to the opposition manager using their details on that list to confirm match times and location, use the ‘Matchday Sheet’ attached at the bottom of this article to send to every opposition you play, so they are aware of how to access the site, but so they also understand our rules & regulation (no smoking etc…). Once the fixture has been agreed with your opponents, you then need to ask your own team for availability by putting the match details in your chat, alongside something like a poll. For all home games, club management will arrange referees and also pay them. The opposition will be expected to pay half to our referee in cash.
If you are playing away, await a message from your opposition manager during the week, where they will confirm the time & place of the match. Once the fixture has been agreed with your opponents, you then need to ask your own team for availability by putting the match details in your chat, alongside something like a poll. At the game, you will be expected to pay half of the referee fee in cash to the ref the opposition team provide. Referee rates can be found further down this article. Every month or so, fill out our referee fee claim form (linked in the managers area) to be reimbursed the ref fees you pay.
Before The Match
Make sure to show your opposition manager your team sheet. This can be done through a print out, or by just using the PDF sent out in your management chats. If anything ever changes in your team (especially if someone new joins), if club management are aware, they should send out a new team sheet to reflect this change. If they are not aware, or have forgotten (it happens!) then please let them know. Only club management are able to generate a new team sheet through the FA’s club portal. Make sure to also check your oppositions team sheet, to ensure they aren’t fielding anyone they shouldn’t be, this is particularly important for cup games.
If you are playing away, make sure you also pay the referee before the match, this is a league rule, and prevents managers from running off without paying after the match if they think decisions haven’t gone their way!!
Referee Fees
5 aside = £12 total (away matches pay half, £6), 7 aside = £20 total (away matches pay half, £10), 9 aside = £30 total (pay half, £15)
After The Match
After the match, there is just one task remaining, you need to fill in a match report. This is where you submit the score of the match, as well as list the players who played, give the opposition respect marks, and rate the referee. The match report form can be found on the button below:
